In 2011 I lived in Paris for 6 months and was able to visit places off the normal tourist path, but still seeing things with that tourist’s overzealous eye. I had the chance to discover some of the less seen people and dogs of Paris. This was my first real attempt at street photography, my first fixed focal camera and my first series in black and white. I found myself in a tricky but enjoyable predicament with my fixed focal lens and the difficulty of trying to find the right frame without being seen. It is an exciting moment, when something catches your eye and you know you only have a fleeting second to capture it, and only one opportunity to get it right.
