Jonathan imbues his subjects with humour and poignancy. His instinctual ability to take a concept and tell a fascinating visual story is both innovative and compelling.
Jonathan’s great love is the quirky, creative, concept-driven advertising that comes out of true collaboration with art directors.
Jonathan loves to find interesting characters and unconventional locations, using colour and treatments to heighten the visual experience. Always looking for subtle humour, his work visually engages us by drawing us in to share the experience of the subject.
Lürzer’s Archive magazine named Jonathan one of the Top 200 International Advertising photographers in 2010/11 and has again recently been voted for 2012/13.
Jonathan won the 2009 Sydney Morning Herald “shoot the chef” competition with his hilarious portrayal of celebrity chef Manu Fieldel on a unicycle, dressed as a circus performer. Jonathan has also been a finalist in Australia’s most prestigious photographic portrait prize HEAD ON in both 2010 & 2011.
Jonathan’s work has Exhibited in Sydney, Moscow, Paris and the image “The Embrace” is currently exhibiting in the London’s National Portrait gallery as part of the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize.
Jonathan has recently relocated to Europe and now has representation in Sydney, Paris and Moscow.

RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS:
November 2011 – The Sydney Dogs & Cats campaign was awarded the following at ADMA. Integrated : Silver, Outdoor: Silver
Effectiveness: Bronze. The campaign is also a finalist in Caples which will be announced soon.
October 2011 – Google Maps Street View “Know before you Go” campaign awarded a silver for print in The Moscow International Advertising ‘Red Apple’ Festival 2011. A silver at Epica (Europe’s premier crativity awards) and was a finalist at Eurobest awards.
September – 2011 – “The Embrace” has been selected by the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize, to exhibit in The U.K’s National Portrait Gallery
August 2011 – Voted by Luerzer’s Archive Magazine in the top 200 Ad photographers worldwide for 2012/13.
June 2011 – Finalist in the Galerie Huit Salon International competition. ‘Les Rencontres d’Arles’ France.
